BASEBALL TEAM
As this copy goes to the printer's shop, the Gilbert baseball Yellow-Jackets have played only three games. These were exhibition tilts, with the League games coming next.

The Jackets, under the guidance of Coach Carl Coleman, are considered, at this writing, a definite power 'in the Naugatuck Valley League. If they become the possessors of the Championship Plaque in June, the Miracle staff can say, "We told you so."

Coach Coleman, assisted by Mr. Fecto, will make his bid with a fast moving club comprised of Bill
Mooney and Bill Julian alternating at first, John Bardino at second, Chiefo Belladella at short, Dick Gayer at third, Leon Veretto in right, John Crossman in center and pitching, Dick Kittredge in left, George Case on the mound with Crossman, and Mike Buttafuso behind the plate. Reserves Hughes, Pequignot, Colligan, and Cooney will be on hand.

For the past several seasons the Jackets have been operating in the fast Valley League which in. cludes such baseball strongholds as Wilby, Ansonia, and Torrington.
