PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE TO THE SENIOR CLASS
The time has now arrived for the class of 1949 to leave the classrooms of the Gilbert School for various fields of endeavor. Graduation from high school is not the end of your education but in reality the beginning. While you have been in Gilbert, your teachers have striven to give you a background on which to continue your education and to instill in you an eagerness to learn. Working with you has been a great pleasure. The "forty-niners" of a century ago moved our frontiers to the west in search of gold. Today, the gold you seek should be the living of purposeful lives of maximum usefulness.
